Mel Fischer said, "There's treasure everywhere." and I believe it. Searching for fossils is great, but metal detecting is another passion. I have found some wonderful treasures in the coastal waters. I got my first detector at the age of 13 and it was cheap and loud and I love it.
Best Find - (other than my wife?) is likely a one carat flawless diamond set in a men's 14 K yellow-gold ring appraised at 10,000 dollars. That was a good day.
Worst Day - being chased out of the water by a ten foot hammerhead shark that cruised in front of me.
Oddest find - somebody's teeth and another time someone's 'grill' that goes over their front teeth.
