I create unique hand-made pieces of jewelry that are ready for the beach.  As a Florida-based artist, scuba-diver, treasure-hunter and jewelry-designer, I've created jewelry that endures an active life-style that includes plenty of salt water.  My bone carving references traditional tribal fishhook patterns of the South Pacific, whales, sharks, sea horses and sea creatures both real and imagined.   All my materials are selected for the beach and the sea. I also create free-form cabochon pieces and sell rough stone.

Meet Beach Cut Jim

James Monaco

“Salt water runs in my blood. As a Florida-based artist, scuba-diver and treasure-hunter, I've created jewelry that endures an aquatic lifestyle. My work is made specifically for an active life that includes surfing, boating, fishing and swimming in the sea. My materials are salt resistant and sturdy featuring stone and bone carvings that tolerate frequent visits under the waves.”

~Beach Cut Jim~

Beach Cut Jim’s, bone carvings reference traditional fishhooks, protective deities from the South Pacific/New Zealand and sea creatures both real and imagined. All his carvings have his original, fresh and appealing take on conventional motifs and are set in a progressive style with high-quality natural materials of stone, bone and metal, making his creations stand-out as something old and new.

His work is available at The Artful Giraffe Gallery
in Sarasota, Florida.

An avid treasure-hunter and scuba diver, James has tested his work with years of sea water. The pendant he currently wears has been on his neck continuously for several years. His use of high-test fishing line and stainless-steel findings make his pieces salt-water tolerant and beach-ready. He hopes his work finds active individuals who share his love for art and the sea.
